Travel Day

Day 48 – Tombstone to Van Horn Texas

We left Tombstone and began our 424 mile, 9 hour trip through New Mexico for Van Horn Texas. We picked up a hitch hiker and dropped him off in Lordsburg where we got stuck at the gas pumps behind a truck that locked their keys in the ignition. After a short stop to see the worlds largest roadrunner made out of garbage in las cruces, we continued on through El Paso where we stopped for supper. Tonights RV park was to be a KOA for $40

Day 42 – Moved Out of Phoenix and Into Tucson

A short day’s drive from Destiny RV Park in Goodyear through to our new 3 day home in Tucson. We stopped at the Rooster Cogburn Ostrich Ranch along the way before leveling out our RV at Whispering Palms RV Park. Then we took a quick tour of Fourth Avenue in downtown Tucson and did some shopping.

Day 11 – Xmas in Phoenix

After a short trip on xmas day, we arrived at Destiny RV Park in Goodyear Arizona; the RV resort that was to be our first month long camping spot. After a quick walk around the park to find the laundry facilities, the pool, hot tub, gym and rec room, we toured the surrounding area and then settled in for the night together.

Day 10 – Hoover Dam

It was a short travel day today, from Pahrump Nevada to Kingman Arizona. Rob took a tour of the Hoover Dam as we crossed over it, and we spent Xmas Eve in our motorhome, a little closer to our first full on camp site in Phoenix Arizona.

Day 6 – Two Days in Pahrump Nevada

We left Mesquite Nevada, stopped into the Whole Foods in Vegas and then climbed a very long and steep hill as we crossed the mountain range and headed down into Pahrump Nevada, home of Art Bell. After a little shopping for odds and ends we needed (vacuum and new sewer hose), we visited the Pahrump Desert Winery for a tasting.
