Day 33 – Meteor Crater and Winslow Arizona

Our first day trip after spending over a month on the road in our RV was to visit the historic , simply because of The Eagles song “Take it Easy”. We simply had to have our picture taken “!” 17 Miles west of Winslow however, was the 50,000 year old and site of NASA training missions for moon exploration and site of filming for one of Rob’s favorite movies Star Man with Jeff Bridges, filmed in 1984. Discovering the famous quite by accident, we left Winslow wondering “why on earth does that town exist anyway?”

Day 11 – Christmas in Phoenix

After a short trip on Christmas day, we arrived at Destiny RV Park in Goodyear Arizona; the RV resort that was to be our first month long camping spot. After a quick walk around the park to find the laundry facilities, the pool, hot tub, gym and rec room, we toured the surrounding area and then settled in for Christmas night together.

Day 9 – Wind Delay

Due to high winds in the area, we kept the motorhome parked in the RV park and waited it out. Having heard of wind storms near Phoenix causing deaths on the highway, we felt it better to stay put that risk it. As an added bonus, while waiting out the wind, Dar won $99 in video poker at the casino.
